Carbase is a family-run business based in Somerset with four used car and van dealerships across the county. Will definitely not be using Carbase again which is a shame as last time we had a really good experience buying from them. Car was advertised as having Apple Car Play but this wasn’t activated and therefore cannot use - to get activation requires £240 of work from Seat dealer. Attitude was fairly patronising when I identified this issue the day after purchase and salesperson suggested multiple times that I just needed to use a cable to connect phone to car despite my asserting that it needed an activation code. Once we established that I was right an activation code was needed I was advised to get a quote from a Seat dealer for this and they would speak to aftercare team to resolve the issue. I provided the quote the same working day and Carbase then took three weeks to give me any kind of response despite my chasing three times during that period. Eventually replied saying that despite agreeing they had advertised the car as having Apple car play they would not be paying for it. If I was being cynical I would suggest waiting me out to ensure we were out of the 14 day return period. Honestly I think this is false advertising and so I am seeking legal advice on how to proceed with the issue. Car interior wasn’t very clean also. Overall very disappointed by the whole experience and would rather spend my money elsewhere.

I'd recommend Carbase Brent Knoll to anyone because they are professional, non 'pushy' yet informative.
Particular thanks to Will, for his patience & explaining different aspects throughout our purchase of our Hyundi I 10.
Just one thing, I would like to mention is about engaging the clutch when starting the vehicle--- not everyone knows this !!

My experience at Carbase Bristol could have been better because
Was told prior to coming down to purchase the car that it was having the timing belt changed along with some other bits which is why it took a little while to get to the showroom.
Whilst I was purchasing the car I asked if I could grab a copy of the timing belt receipt for my records and was told that in fact it hadn't actually been changed and I would need to change it in the next year or 2. If I hadn't asked about it I doubt I'd have been told and would not have known to replace it which could have caused issues down the line..
To add to this, after having a look around the vehicle I asked about there being no spare tyre? I was told that they don't come with one as it's an optional extra and that they just come with a repair kit instead. I asked if the kit was complete and everything was there as I'd only had a tyre before? I was told that it was. Upon returning home with the vehicle I was told by a friend that it was not complete and was missing the tools and repair solution.
Lastly, I noticed after I had left that the latest service receipt from the service done at carbase was missing from the pack of documents. I have so far rang 4 times in the last 7 days to ask about it and to try and get it. Each time I have been told 'someone with get back to me asap or by the end of the day's and I have still yet to have a call back.
Overall not a great experience and that's without the waiting around whilst I was there.

Carbase Weston Super Mare were great because the selection of car was fantastic. The only problem I had was the car was electric and there wasn't any charge in the battery. You need a 7kw charger installed to keep electric cars topped up.
