My experience at Hendy Hyundai Poole

My experience at Hendy Hyundai Poole was a real mixed bag. I was buying the 5 month old vehicle which was the managers/ex demo, which really was still almost new and very low miles. I wanted the ceramic coating on the paintwork so that I can keep it as nice as possible over the next few years of ownership. On the day of the handover I arrived and saw my car in a heap of dust on the front. Instantly I was drawn to many many scratch marks on the bodywork which was quite frankly is a joke if a main dealer thought it was ok to hand a car to me in that condition given the fact the car was only 5 months old. The response prior to finding out what was going on is ‘you are buying a used car and it’s not new’. That comment in itself was not acceptable. This nearly new car has more scratches than the car Im about to trade in and it’s 8 years old!! Anyway it transpires that the body shop had not completed its checks and no ceramic coating had been done. I made it very obvious I was not prepared to take the vehicle as it is, as they need to at least fix all the marks. The irony is, is that i am also taking out a dent and scratch policy so surely it would make sense for them to sort all these issues out beforehand?

4 days later I come back, and it was in a much better condition considering now the deal was under scrutiny. There was still some light scratches that can be shown in the light, and actually I am surprised at the condition of it being 5 months old.
Just before I drove away after the handover I sat in the car for a few minutes longer to inspect the interior. There clearly was a dog that has been transported in the vehicle, which that wasn’t the problem as I love dogs, but if you are selling this vehicle it should be hoovered and pet hair less and removing the wet dog smell. Unfortunately they got this wrong as well. There was white dog hair all under the back seats of the vehicle. I felt because I wasn’t buying a new car of them, the service drops immensely and lack of care, attention has been felt by this customer. Previously I had a Volvo and the handover of the vehicle was 10/10, Hyundai Poole has to really think hard about how they treat all their customers whether if buying new or used. My whole experience has been very much an average experience. I hope they take this review on board and be better for the next customer that walks through the door because if they think that’s the way to treat customers then they will start losing them. I am not saying to ask for rolls Royce service, but these are some basics that a main dealer should get right, surely!?

Hendy Hyundai Poole were great because they discussed all the vehicles available to my criteria and requirements and were really helpful. Ultimately, we found the right vehicle for me at a price I was happy with. Jack the salesperson was really lovely and helpful throughout the whole purchase experience.
