I recently bought my second used Golf from Vertu VW South. I'd had a great experience the first time around, but have had a lot of trouble with this car from the week I purchased it. A warning light came on to say that there was an error with the gear selector - I booked it in to get looked at, along with a knocking sound coming from the engine when idling. The part that it needed is on back order, so I was told I'd need to wait for it to be installed and that the car was safe to drive. I haven't heard any update on this in the past month since the part was ordered. At the time that I booked the car in, I was told that there was a recall on it for the SOS system module, that would also need repair - I have no idea why this wasn't flagged and sorted out at the time that I purchased the car, especially seeing as it's such a common issue with this model. I was told that this would be sorted out when I brought the car back in for the gear selector to be fixed, but in the past month the SOS system has been activating in error, and the car has been getting confused about its GPS location during navigation, which I understand is probably related. Overall this isn't really the experience I'd expect when buying an approved used VW from Vertu, and I haven't been impressed with the communication or service I've received since the purchase.
