I would not recommend Johnsons Volkswagen Solihull because previous experience from service department unfriendly.didnt acknowledge me standing waiting for ages .abrupt when I tried to explain what was wrong with the car .called me to say car ready.when I got to the service depot same experience as before left me stood waiting and never acknowledged they would be with me.then I had to wait 30 mins before I asked where was my car to be told the mechanic had lost my keys.they didn't apologise and left me waiting 15 mins more.this was not the 2st time I experienced this kind of attitude.but can I say kieran service dept was always great ! When he was on the desk.also can I say that my recent visit with the new frontage customer service desk is a 100% improvement and all the staff were great so you have made some good choices and I felt so much better this last visit.sadly I had already gone to volvo to order my new motability vehicle due to my experience and poor service .

This was a warranty fix for my car - not a small job - it needed a new steering rack. The work was booked in for the 6th of March and the car was delivered to them on the 13/14th of Feb. The garage confirmed they would get the car into their workshop earlier if they could - which they did and the car was repaired and returned on the 4th of March - ahead of their initial estimate for even getting it into their workshop. I was very satisfied with the speed of resolution and their efforts to get my car back earlier. Unfortunately their communication was not great - something I think they need to consider in the future. There were commitments to call me to confirm status which did not happen. When I called on a Saturday the level of information on their system was not very informative for the weekend staff - they could only tell me it was awaiting a part with no view of a timeline for returning my vehicle. I can completely appreciate they can only give me the information that is available on their system - which I think is something they need to look at. The car was in fact just waiting for 4 wheel alignment and they expected to get the car back to me the day that was completed. Some additional information - - The car MOT was due on the 12/03/2024 - hence my need to stay in communication with them to decide if I needed them to complete the MOT or to understand if I had - time to take it to my local garage. - I was offered a curtesy car but was on holiday for the week from the 18th of February so I said we should look at that when I got back and understand the timeline for completion of the work. I did not want to waste their time supplying me a curtesy car if it was only for a couple of days. - I needed a car for the weekend of the 9th & 10th of March - hence my need to stay in communication with them to understand if I needed to make alternative arrangements for travel for that weekend if they could not get my car back, or to take up their offer of a curtesy car. In summary, satisfied with their speed of repair, the work on the car but I think their communication approach needs some work. I would not expect to be updated every day but if the timeline was 2-3 weeks long for the work then some more information once or twice a week would be good. I have to initiate contact to get updates most of the time.
