The salesman and sales department's are fine but everything else about this company is well below par in my opinion. They appear to have gone down the route which most dealers have in the current climate of massively reducing staff and getting an automatic telephone system and i must say the people they have left in Service and parts are crap. Having bought my car from a nice guy who was honest and open. If he didnt know the answer to my questions he asked someone or came back to me with the answer. I thought palmers looked like the first dealership which i could trust. HOW WRONG COULD I HAVE BEEN! I got an issue with my new car after 8 weeks (nothing major but id like it looked at as after spending the best part of 12k i like to be sure all is ok) i phoned the service department and this is where it all went wrong. Having left about 15 messages for service in the watford pug branch and getting nowhere, no calls or anything i thought id try the skoda branch to see if they could help and got a very unhelpful girl on the phone (she sounded like a child who was spitting her dummy out). She told me that i was speaking to the wrong garage and when i said about the fact that i had got nowhere with palmers pug garage up the road from them she told me it wasnt her problem and hung up on me. when i phoned back to complain i ended up getting the sales dept as service were to busy again. The salesman i spoke to was great and said that he was sorry for the service i had received and he would see if he could help. unfortunately although he tried i am still to receive a call from palmers service department in pug or skoda watford. After this i thought ill give it one last try (as i got such good service from the sales department) by phoning palmers in Hemel as i live inbetween the 2 garages and although watford is closer i could go to hemel. Phoning hemel gave me exactly the same problem. No one from service available to take my call and the sales department try but failing to get anyone to ring me back. infact once again the only person i spoke to who was helpful was from sales but like he said "if i could look at your car and fix it i would but im not trained and wouldnt really know where to start". Im still waiting for a call from any service department in Palmers Motor Company After the service i got from the sales team which was great i feel that palmers just want your money from the sale then cant be bothered with you if you have a service issue/question. In all if you want a good purchasing experience go to Palmers as you will be looked after to almost the point of perfection. If you want servicing done go somewhere else as the people on the service desk as understaffed and some of them are just plain rude.
