  • Benfield Skoda Newcastle were really helpful and I'd recommend them because the staff were really friendly and helpful.There was no 'hard sell'. I was asked what I had in mind and given some options.   • Benfield Hyundai have amazing staff when you first go into the garage to buy a car they can't do enough. They tell you everything you want to hear, the mpg is what the brochure states, the build quality of Hyundai is amazing. However i have been burnt by this garage and its lies, i purchased a i30 premium last year based on the "excellent mpg" and havent managed to get near the quoted combined mpg figure even on a long driver doing 55 mph tops. When i raised this with the sales team they booked it in and said it didnt sound right, and that they would do extensive test running the car for a few hundred miles and using a full tank dwon to 0 then fill back up and repeat this. They had my car for 3 days and phoned and said theres nothing wrong with your car can you pick it up. When i got there they had used my fuel which wasnt much in and had done 10 miles and didnt wait to get the avergae mpg to the 62 which i had been promised! Also my Father has a Sante Fe which this week he got back from them after they had replaced a faulty turbo, which took them three weeks to replace and today 3 days after getting the car back it breaks and they didnt want to know about and have been totaly unreasonable. I would say to anyone stay away from this garage, unless you like getting lied to. I am currently trying to sell my i30 as its averging 46.9mpg which is alot less than the promised 62mpg.

  • My experience at Benfield Lexus Leeds was not satisfactory because items promised prior to sale have not arrived at my home address, email sent to Phil Coates sales representative of Benfield have not been responded to damage was found on the inside of the vehicle shortly after purchase a lengthy email detailing defaults was brought to Phil Coates attention this email was disregarded and not responding to dealership very disappointing for Lexus

  • I would not recommend this centre. My car was recalled for and injector fault and 5 minutes before the car was due in for repair, I discovered the centre failed to provide me a courtesy car that was arranged prior. Apparently one of their cars had broken down and the other cars were already with customers. This was only the start. The repairs to my car were carried out, but two days later, on the Thursday the car developed a fault and went into limp mode, numerous engine management lights appeared. I contacted the dealer and they told me the earliest they could get the car back in, was the Friday of next week, 8 days later. I complained they had carried out the original work and an 8 day wait was not acceptable, suprisingly they managed to get it in on the Monday. I was told by the engineer it did not sound like new injectors they fitted had failed, but sounded like the DPF filter had clogged and needed flushing through, the quote for the job was £99. I took the car in on the Monday, still no courtesy car and told I would needed to leave it there all day. I rang later in the afternoon, because I had no word back, they informed me it was the DPS filter and they were arranging quotes, this meant I would not get the car back that day. The next day (Tuesday) they informed me the DPF filter had blocked and they now could not flush the exhaust system through, because the car had a double box. This statement was totally false and the car is standard and does not have a double box. The quote to replace the filter was £1787.87 they also told me there was a fault with the turbo that required further diagnostics for clarification, this would cost an additional £197.28. With this and the pending cost of a possible turbo replacement I was looking at a bill of between £3500 to £4000. I contacted the garage where I originally purchased the car and explained the situation, they in turn contacted Benfield for more details. Benfield were asked to provide the notes taken on the car from when it arrived and the diagnostic results from the tests taken, to clarify the need for all this work, they could not provide either. Due to this I collected the car and got the repairs done the same afternoon by another company. They remedied the fault with the DPS filter for less than £200 and confirmed there was absolutely nothing wrong with the turbo unit. I wish I could mention them on this page. This whole episode was less than adequate and I am disapointed with Benfields diagnosing skills, feedback and general manner for how I was treated. I would never consider taking my car there again.

  • Staff give excellent service while you are purchasing the car, unfortunately if you have any issues after having signed on the dotted line they will most likely not care. I bought a brand new car which I had an issue with, the dealership were unable to resolve the problem and I ended up having to take the car elsewhere after being fobbed off. I was then told I had been given a free service "by way of apology for the inconvenience", this never materialised either and the only thing they seemed interested in was getting me to give them top marks on a user survey. I would not use them again.

  • I would not recommend Benfield Hyundai Newcastle because on the day I collected the vehicle I brought it home I noticed a cracked rear light and a problem with a folding rear seat , I immediately rang the salesman who assured me everything would be resolved. I have made lots of tele calls and on a recent visit to chase this up the Sales Manager actually stated I could have damaged the light myself! I felt this questioned my integrity- is this how customers are normally treated?- he had not checked the background to my case in that I'd rang within hours of collecting the vehicle. I complained to the original salesman who did apologise for this. It's now 3 months since I purchased the vehicle and today I have had the 2 repairs completed. I believe these would not have been done if I had not been persistent and continued to chase these issues. After a good sales experience I feel I was let down by the aftercare which is just as important.

  • I would not recommend Benfield Hyundai Newcastle because Having picked up the vehical it was noted that it had various paint defects. These were not fully repaired when the vehical was returned, it seemed that no one with authority over seen the paint repairs. Another problem was very noisy brake pads the car was returned to work shop but was no better. The car also has numerous rattles and buzzes when driving and the air-con is noisy, these may be a car manufactures issue.
